The World Health Organisation (WHO) advises that every minute at least one woman dies form complications related to pregnancy or childbirth i.e. 529,000/year resulting in 1,000,000 children left motherless. These children are 10 times more likely to die within 2 years of their mother’s death. In addition, for every woman who dies in childbirth, around 20 more suffer injury, infection or disease – approximately 10 million women every year.
ZONTA BIRTHING KITS provide for a clean birth that may decrease the risk of death from infection and bleeding.
What is a Zonta Birthing Kit?
The kit includes:
1m x 1m plastic sheet for the mother to lie on
a piece of soap
2 gloves
5 gauze squares
3 string
sterile scalpel blade
ALL CONTAINED IN A SMALL PRESS SEAL PLASTIC BAG
